More general facts about dragons and their history:
• In China, dragons represent wealth, power and leadership. It was beloved that Chinese emperors were the descendants of dragons.
• A very little dragon is called a “dragonet.”
• Some of the longships used by the Vikings had carvings of dragon heads on the prow (which means the front of the longship). These ships were known to the Vikings by the name “drakkar,” meaning “dragon ships.”
• Red-colored stones are sometimes called “dragon stones” because they were believed to be hardened lumps of dragon blood. Gross!
• People who study dragons are called dragonologists.
