Briony has been writing stories, books, novels and poetry since she was able to hold a pen. Megara’s Magic School: Bedtime Spell for Dragon Realms was her first children’s picture book.

After graduating from Durham University with a first class honours degree in English Literature, she had many jobs including a stindt in marketing alongside postgraduate le study including a Masters in Commercial Legal Practice, ending up as a lawyer (for her sins!) but she’ll tell you hands down that being a mum first and foremost is the most important (and feels lucky to have the space to dip in and out of work and creativity in tandem).

She started writing again mostly in stolen pockets of time during her daughters’ naps, with a focus on children’s picture books and middle grade fantasy, but loves to explore all kinds of things… they usually feature a sprinkle of magic somewhere though. Her latest projects are a speculative adult archaeological thriller novel with mythic and mystical elements, and a cosy-mysterious fantasy novel.

As a multi-passionate (understatement) she loves and lives to juggle, and so after roles in marketing, magic circle law, parenting, holistic infant sleep coaching (this helped inspire her first children’s picture book), business coaching and social media, she is currently enjoying prioritising motherhood, and creativity around the edges, and co-hosting the More than Runner podcast.

She lives in London with her husband and two daughters, her favourite humans of all time (in the entire multiverse), and having tackled her first London Marathon and 50km ultra marathon in the same year, is looking for her next long run… as soon as she can put the crochet down.
